Agricultural practices: Controlling disease and weeds by treating the seeds with biopesticides and using suitable crop rotation

Molecular detection: Rapidly identifying pathogens by isothermal amplification test (RT-LAMP), multiplex PCR to simultaneously identify various pathogens.

Bioinformatics: Decrypting NGS (Next Generation Sequencing) data.

Plant vitroculture:  In vitro plant propagation and sanitation of sweet potato, potato and cassava.

THE KAMBOINSE PLATFORM

The Kamboinse Platform is located in the Centre for Environmental and Agricultural Research and Training (CREAF) of INERA in Kamboinsé, at 12 km North of Ouagadougou on the Ouagadougou – Koungoussi road. About twenty people (researchers, engineers, technicians, thesis students and laboratory agents) members of PathoBios permanently work there and about twenty interns and partners are hosted there each year. The platform has phytopathology laboratory with a mycology, virology and plant biotechnology section. These laboratories have serology, molecular biology, mycology, vitro-cultivation equipment and greenhouses for experimental studies.

Commonly conducted analyses :

Biological detection: characterization of the pathogenic diversity of viruses and fungi, phenotyping, etc.

Serological detection: using polyclonal or monoclonal antibodies

Molecular biology : DNA and RNA nucleic acids extraction, microbe DNA amplification for sequencing, genotyping, Marker Assisted Selection, recombining protein production for enzymes, diagnosis kits development and vaccine production

Plant vitro-cultivation: Plant reproduction and in vitro sanitation
